Meet Molly
“The Hippie in a Business Suit”

After I scaled the corporate ladder in record time, I was sure that starting my own business would be a breeze.  I had an MBA, an impressive corporate background and a tenacious attitude.  If anyone could be an instant success in business – I thought I would be the one. 

Wrong!   But being the tenacious person that I am, I was determined to figure out the formula for small business success.  So I took courses, read books, attended seminars – and spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure out the winning strategy.  Some of the strategies I learned helped.  But not completely.  Why was I working so many hours – and so hard – but yet not achieving the goals that I had set?   Eventually I discovered that the big winning strategy I needed to figure out was in front of me all the time.  It was me.  I was the key to success.

I realized that I was literally blocking my success with my own fears, doubts and feelings of inadequacy.  It took a while for me to own up to what was going on – even to myself.  I can remember having lunch with an old friend from my corporate days. When I told her I was working through some confidence issues in my current role as Entrepreneur and she said “Confidence?  Molly, you’re the most confident person I know!”  And I was confident – until I started my own business.

That’s when all of my junk showed up.  I now recognize (and thank my lucky stars) that starting my own business has been more than just starting a business– it’s been a spiritual journey – a place and framework in which all of my fears showed up and the place where I could work through them, let them go and remember the true nature of who I am.  I now fully understand that I can be, do, or have anything.  Each one of us can.  If we can just get out of our own way.

Meet Therese
“The Accidental Entrepreneur”

Far from the corporate world, I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and was a psychotherapist for 22 years.  (In fact, I’m pretty sure I never did the corporate gig because I just couldn’t play well in that arena.  Something about office politics that would not have been a good fit!)

Eight years ago I was listening to the urging of my soul to leave my very comfortable nest, so I went to Life Coaching School and it was there that I discovered the bigger vision that Spirit had for me.  Instead of helping a few clients a week, I ‘got’ that I was to touch the lives of thousand and thousands, and that coaching would be that vehicle.

But the problem was that even though I had been self employed for years and years, I knew nothing about running a business. Trust me, in therapy school they taught nothing about sales, marketing, networking, or any other business building skills.

I joke that marketing for me was just wishing and hoping more clients would magically find me, because I didn’t have a clue about target markets or anything else related to getting clients in the door. 

As a Life Coach I struggled and struggled until I was finally led to coaches and mentors who would put me on the path of business coaching, because it seems like I love helping people grow their lives through the vehicle of their business.  So I became one of those people who spent tens of thousands on learning all the sales and marketing skills.

I’ve been coached and mentored by some of the industries finest – Dave Buck, Ken Foster, Christian Mickelson, Melanie Strick, Kendall Summerhawk, to name a few.  Using what I’ve learned and adding my own ‘magic’ to the mix, makes for a very cool combination.  Today I blend the mindset and marketing and strategy for my clients so that they can have businesses which serve their lives.

My belief is that the entrepreneurial path is really a spiritual journey because no where else will you bump into your ‘stuff’ like being a business owner.  You get the chance to step into places of strength and power. I’ve had to develop leadership I never knew I had, forge visions I couldn’t previously see for myself, and play a much, much bigger game at times than those little inner voices told me I could.  But I persevered and have mastered the mindset tools in my own life.

Where I’m at today is that I finally have “come out of the closet” and started using all the mindset tools I learned as a therapist, and now witness my clients taking off.  I discovered that within 30 minutes I could take somebody who was completely stuck, blocked or frustrated with poor results and they would have a breakthrough.  Guaranteed!  Clients started doubling their incomes, enjoying what they were doing, and I knew then that I was onto something because I could now blend the outer with the inner.
